Three steps, one tap
- Step 1
The agent reaches a high-risk action
Its mandate says this one needs a person. Clevername holds the tool call before it runs. Nothing executes while it waits, and if no approver is set up the call is refused, not skipped.
- Step 2
You decide on your phone
A push notification arrives in the SignedApproval app with the agent, the tool, and a redacted summary of what it is about to do. Approve with Face ID, or reject. A passkey in the web dashboard works too.
- Step 3
A signed receipt comes back
Your decision returns as an Ed25519-signed receipt. Clevername verifies the signature before the held call runs, stores the receipt with the action's audit record, and anyone can re-verify it later.

Approvals are delivered by the SignedApproval app for iPhone and Apple Watch. Install it, link it to your Clevername account under Settings → Notifications, and the next high-risk action lands on your phone. No app handy? Approve in its web dashboard with a passkey instead.
Where it fits
Human approval is one control inside an agent’s mandate. The guards do the continuous work; the approval step is for the handful of actions you decided a person should see first.
About the receipt
Each decision is signed with Ed25519 by a service that runs on separate infrastructure from the platform it governs, so the signature is independent of Clevername. The receipt binds the approver, the action text, the decision, and the time. Clevername verifies it against a pinned public key before the held call runs, and exports it in the human-oversight compliance report. Compliance reports
