How BYOK works for org members

Clevername is BYOK-first on every tier — your Clevername subscription covers the governance platform, not LLM compute. Each member connects their own API keys for Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Azure OpenAI, or any LiteLLM-supported provider, and those providers bill them directly. Team and Enterprise admins can configure org-level keys that all members share, so individuals don't need to manage their own. Either way, Clevername never marks up your LLM costs.

Adding and removing members (Team & Enterprise)

Team seat capacity is managed from Dashboard → Settings → Billing. Increase the Team seat count before inviting beyond your current cap; pending invites count toward the cap. Enterprise can provision members via SCIM 2.0 directory sync (Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace). Deactivated members do not count toward seat limits.

Step-by-Step Guide

View your seat count (Team / Enterprise)

Go to Dashboard → Settings → Billing. The overview shows your current Team seat count, next billing date, and the seat-count control. Team plans bill per active seat at $40/seat/mo (2-seat minimum).

Monitor per-member governance activity

Click Usage Breakdownto see governance metrics per member — requests routed, agents governed, and scanning activity. This helps identify active users and review your team's AI governance footprint.

Configure org-level API keys (optional)

If you want members to share a single set of provider keys rather than each managing their own, go to Settings → API Keysand add org-level keys. Members who don't have personal keys configured will automatically fall back to the org keys.

Tip

Set spending limits directly with your AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) to control costs for shared org keys. Clevername does not cap provider spend — that protection lives at the provider level.

Download invoices

Past invoices are available in the Invoices tab. Click any invoice to download a PDF with a detailed breakdown of charges. Note that your AI provider costs appear on separate invoices from your provider — not here.
